1Introduction
At Skatteguru, we believe in being transparent about how we collect and use data. This policy explains how we use cookies and similar technologies to help deliver and improve our services while respecting your privacy rights.
2What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device. They help us make your experience better by remembering your preferences and providing essential features.
3Types of Cookies We Use
Necessary Cookies
These cookies are necessary for our website to work properly and cannot be disabled. They help with:
- Keeping you securely logged in
- Remembering your session information
- Ensuring our website's security
- Managing basic functionality
- Loading essential frontend configuration and feature flags safely
- Remembering your theme preference when that setting is available to your account
Necessary storage can contain session identifiers and preferences. It is used to operate the service, rather than for advertising.
Performance Cookies
We use Mixpanel analytics to understand how visitors use our website, which helps us improve our services. We've carefully configured our analytics to respect your privacy:
- What Is Collected: Usage information about:
- Which features are most helpful
- How visitors navigate our site
- Which areas need improvement
- Information We Exclude: Names, email addresses and IP addresses are excluded from Mixpanel event and profile properties. IP-based geolocation is disabled.
- Privacy Measures:
- User identifiers are hashed before being sent to Mixpanel
- Query strings, referrers and raw error messages are excluded
- Browser analytics is controlled by performance-cookie consent
- Provider: Mixpanel Privacy Policy
These cookies are optional and only set with your explicit consent.
Feature Flags and Remote Configuration
We also use PostHog to deliver frontend feature flags and remote configuration. This helps us safely enable, disable, or gradually roll out parts of the product.
- How We Use It:
- Delivering feature flags and remote configuration in the frontend
- Making gradual changes to product behavior more safely
- How We Configure It:
- We use PostHog's EU-hosted infrastructure
- We currently use PostHog anonymously and do not send your account ID to PostHog
- Session recording and automatic event capture are disabled
- We respect Do Not Track
- Event capture is off by default; local storage holds preferences and identifiers
- Provider: PostHog Privacy Policy
Third-Party Content (YouTube & Spotify)
Some pages on our website embed content from third-party services that may set cookies on your device.
YouTube
Some pages embed videos from YouTube (a Google service). The player uses privacy-enhanced mode (www.youtube-nocookie.com) and loads after you choose to play. The thumbnail is fetched from YouTube before playback, so Google receives request metadata even before the player is opened. Google controls its own storage and subsequent processing.
- What This Means: YouTube receives a thumbnail request when the page loads. The video player loads when you press play.
- What Cookies Are Set: YouTube may use cookies to remember your preferences, track video views, serve personalized ads, and gather analytics about video performance.
- No Control Over YouTube's Cookies: We do not control which cookies YouTube sets or how it uses them. For more information, please review Google's Privacy Policy and YouTube's Terms of Service.
Spotify
Some pages embed audio players from Spotify. The iframe loads when the page renders and contacts Spotify before playback. Spotify may receive request metadata and use its own cookies or browser storage under its policies.
- What This Means: A visit to a page with a Spotify player can send data to Spotify even if you do not press play.
- What Cookies Are Set: Spotify may use cookies to remember your preferences, serve personalized content, and gather analytics about listening activity.
- No Control Over Spotify's Cookies: We do not control which cookies Spotify sets or how it uses them. For more information, please review Spotify's Privacy Policy.
Diagnostics and Website Analytics
We use Sentry for error reports, performance monitoring, logs and sampled browser replay, with text masking and media blocking. We also use Vercel Web Analytics for website usage statistics. The performance-cookie setting controls Mixpanel browser analytics; it does not control these services or embedded media. Our Vendors and External Services page describes their purposes and data categories.
4Managing Your Cookie Preferences
We make it easy for you to control your privacy:
- First Visit: Choose between accepting only necessary cookies or allowing performance cookies
- Change Anytime: Update your preferences through the "Cookie Settings" link in our footer
- Browser Settings: Control cookies through your browser settings (though this may limit some website features)
5How We Protect Your Privacy
We take several measures to ensure your data stays safe:
- Data Minimization: We only collect what's necessary to improve our services
- Pseudonymisation: We hash identifiers in selected analytics flows; diagnostic and request data may still be personal data
- GDPR Compliance: Our implementations of Mixpanel and PostHog are configured to minimize data collection. PostHog is used anonymously for feature flags and remote configuration, and Mixpanel analytics are enabled only after you opt in.
For more details about how we protect your privacy, see our Privacy Policy.
6Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. Any updates will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
